Apple takes care of that issue by limiting the battery from the beginning, then "releasing" more of the capacity over time via software updates as the battery degrades. To the average end user that doesn't know (or care) about batteries, the change is unnoticed. It's only a matter of time before DJI starts to do the same.

Sep 29, 2023. #14. Three test flights on mini so far. Longest was 19 minutes in the air and the Plus battery went from 87% to 26% (61% usage, with moderate winds at 120m. Felt like forever since my og mini only has like 14 minutes in the air from 95%-15% battery LOL. Torque and solidhouse.
